Here are some more pictures. Colleen weighed him yesterday(Tuesday) and he was at 8lbs 14oz. So he's gaining a little over a pound each week for now. He eats a lot. He doesn't seem much bigger to me, just a little extra fat on his legs and face, but other than that, he still seems pretty skinny to me. He fits into his clothes now lengthwise, almost too big that way, but as far as width goes he's still got some room to grow. He'll get there though. Mom and Dad and Tim came last weekend, that was a lot of fun. That's pretty much it. Oh, here's something interesting that doesn't have to do with Silas, so if that's all you're here for you might as well stop reading now. Colleen and I are trying a very neat way of gardening this year. Her mom sent us this article about how to use hay bales as a raised bed. You set 4 of them up in a square with a space in the middle, then spread fertilizer and compost on top. In the middle you just fill the hole with soil and that is where the root veggies will go. Then you water it really good every day for ten days, and it starts to compost a little bit, then you plant your stuff. As the season goes on, it continues to compost in on itself, and then when the next planting season comes along, you have nice heaping pile of fresh compost to use. It's pretty neat and this is the first time we've had our own garden, so we;re pretty excited about it. That's the excitement in our lives right now. Hope everyone is doing good.

More Pictures
So here are some more pictures. Again. He's doing really good. We went to the pediatrician today and got him weighed, and he's back up to his birth weight. I don't know how many of you know but he lost almost a pound in the hospital, but now he's back and since last Thursday he's gained a little over an ounce each day. We're pretty excited. Colleen's doing really good. That's about all.

More Pictures
Here are some more pictures. Mom said I need to do two per week until her and dad are able to come visit in a few weeks. I'll try and get some better ones when he's more fully awake and without his hat on. Hope everyone is doing well.

New baby boy!!!!
Silas DeBolin Curtis
Born April 17, 2010
10:21am
6 lbs 10 ounces
Here he is. Pretty exciting huh? Pretty small, too, right? Colleen and I were both surprised at the weight, given how gigantic she was at the end. But, he's healthy and she's healthy, and that's all that matters. I'm not really sure what else there is to tell. He has the DeBolin nose, Colleen says he has my lips and ears. He's got a little bit of brown hair, and gray eyes for now. Now I have to get going back to the hospital. Just wanted to run home to grab a few things and post these pictures. Hope everyone is doing well!

Guess What?
It's a boy!!!!!!
Sorry it's been such a long time since our last post. We haven't done much and I don't really like posting without pictures.
Anyways, we had our ultrasound on Friday and found out we're having a boy. Not too surprising given family history but still pretty exciting. He was being quite un-cooperative during the ultrasound, and the doctor kept having Colleen turn on her side, then back again, then the side again, to see if she could get him to stretch out so she could get the shots that she needed. Anyways, here are a couple of pictures from the ultrasound.

Camping and Fishing
Hi everyone. Colleen and I went camping yesterday for the night just the two of us. It was pretty cool. I fished a lot, and Colleen mostly hung out and took about 130 pictures of herself. That's typical when she's bored. Like Ben discovered with panning for gold, I discovered with fly fishing. Trying to copy it from the movies isn't always the best. It was fun trying though. I switched to my other rod and caught a small brown trout, which is all I caught. After I released it, I waded back out into the water and cast in again, then felt something bump my leg. I looked down and there was a water snake that looked about 3 feet long that bumped into my right leg then swam between my legs and then bumped in to my other leg. It was pretty cool. After that I looked across the way and say a whole bunch of otters. I ran back to our camp and grabbed the camera. When I first saw them they were on the shore on the other side of the river, when I finally got back with the camera they were all in the water right near our camp. I got a couple of good photos. Then we sat around the campfire after dinner and played with the camera. All in all it was a pretty good time.

4th of July
Hey everyone. We had a pretty productive 4th of July. At least during the day anyways. We went up to a spot called Mores Mtn. in the afternoon with some friends to go rock climbing. Well, let me correct myself, they were going rock climbing while Colleen and I and our friends wife Kelli watched. I was going to try it, but I wussed out. It looked a little too hardcore for me considering the last time I climbed was with Jeremy at the cliffs by the ranch over 10 years ago. It was a lot of fun though, and a gorgeous view. This just above Bogus Basin, which is where Colleen and I had been for a hike the week before and posted some pictures from that. After this we went over to Mike and Lindseys house and had a bbq, with the best damn burgers I think I've ever had. We lit off some legal fireworks and then after a few more beers decided it was time to get out the bottle rockets. Apparently the Boise Police were issuing $500 fines for illegal fireworks, so we were uhhh.....very careful about lighting them off. At one point we had two bike cops ride past their house right after we had lit some off and they didn't stop, so we didn't stop either. No pictures from that, but we did get some hilarious video of our friend Brandon falling on his aqq while trying to run away from a bottle rocket that flew into the grass next to him. Maybe I'll see if I can get that from Mike and post on here. It was great. Anyways, hope everyone had a nice 4th.
This is our friend Brandon climbing. It looks a little more hardcore than it really is due the angle that Colleen took the photo, but it was still pretty flipping hardcore.
